ECSU and CSCU – Title IX Retaliation: Real-World Effects
A Real-Life Testimony on Why 34 C.F.R. §106.71 Exists
On December 22, 2025, I attempted to end my life by drinking 64 ounces of Jim Beam Whiskey Bourbon. My alcohol-induced suicide attempt was a direct result of Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) and Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) ignoring my requests for a Supportive Measure (pursuant to 34 C.F.R. §106.44) for housing while my Complaint is being investigated.
On December 23, 2025, I called 911 for medical assistance when I regained consciousness in my vehicle after being passed out for 24+ hours from the alcohol consumption. I was transported to Rockville General Hospital’s Emergency Room, where I stayed until December 24, 2025 (Christmas Eve).
On December 24, 2025 (Christmas Eve), I was transported to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Manchester Memorial Hospital (MMH). During my ICU stay, I was in bed and went in and out of consciousness for a greater part of a week. Due to my immobility (I was in the bed for 4 days straight) and toxicity (my body reacting poorly to the alcohol consumption), I was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, or severe muscle breakdown. Resultantly, to this day, I still cannot feel my feet.
On December 30, 2025, I was transferred from the ICU to the Dual Diagnosis (Psychiatric/Medical) Unit at MMH, where I stayed until January 5, 2026.
My total time hospitalized, you ask?: 13 days.
Additionally, I was hospitalized for both Christmas and New Year’s, which are communal holidays – I will take this opportunity to say that one of the reasons 34 C.F.R. §106.71 exists is to prevent tragedies like mine. Nobody deserves to be harassed by high-level higher education administrators who hide behind a title to the point that students or lower-level faculty/staff members nearly end up on Death Row. I am being what is called immediate, or “bringing the elephant into the room,” with this because I feel it is necessary to call out institutional gaslighting and hubris for what it is.
Below, please find my discharge paperwork from the Dual Diagnosis portion of my stay at MMH, where I “translate” the jargon in the paperwork into the real-world effects it had on me. I believe many survivors can relate, and I candidly share my experiences to provide a voice for those who cannot or will not bring forth their own experiences. I have had enough of the institutional siloing of information and the playbook tactic of “starve them out” to get Complainants to go away quietly.
It is 2026 and I am operating on #2026Fortitude – please join me in this venture! The receipts do not lie. Without further ado, please find my annotated discharge paperwork from MMH:
