About BaEZelevates Justice For Title IX Survivors
Retaliation Timeline: Violations of 34 C.F.R. §106.71
Hello Everyone!
I am Demitric Baez and I served as the Graduate Intern/Hall Director for Burnap Hall at Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) from May 30, 2025, until September 18, 2025.
In July 2025, I was sexually assaulted and chemically coerced (influenced or forced to drink substances) by a student at Quinebaug Valley CT State, a neighboring community college. I reported this to Mrs. Sara Madera Judge, the Director of Institutional Equity/Title IX Coordinator at ECSU, and faced immediate retaliation.
On September 18, 2025, I was discharged from psychiatric adult hospitalization due to stress from the sexual assault and within one hour after my discharge, Sgt. Christopher Fiore of ECSU Police issued me a Criminal Trespass Warning after I refused to sign a resignation letter written for me by Paul Carmine Serignese, the Director of Housing and Residential Life.
Since September 18, 2025, I have dealt with more retaliatory actions by administrators at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) and Connecticut State Colleges & Universities (CSCU).
The Mission: Ending Systemic Silence
I want to make sure that no one goes through what I went through, and am still going through, ever again! This is exactly why I started Justice For Title IX Survivors – a non-profit organization that dives deep into Title IX-related issues and trauma-informed practices – on November 9, 2025.
Title IX is a law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex (including sexual assault and interpersonal violence) at educational institutions across the United States of America. As you navigate the site, you will gain some education on what it is in greater depth! 📝
As of January 12, 2026, I am still facing the effects of the retaliatory actions taken against me by ECSU:
(1) I am starving and feel like I am going to pass out daily – ECSU blocked my unemployment saying that I “voluntarily quit.”
(2) On January 9, 2026, my car insurance was cancelled since I have had difficulty finding employment.
(3) My vehicle is soon to be repossessed.
(4) I am waiting until January 30, 2026, for my unemployment appeal hearing.
(5) My phone service may be shut off by then – I have no funds to pay my cellphone bill and I need to call to participate in the unemployment hearing.
Direct Action: Help me continue the fight for justice ⚖ and survival 🍽🥤- my Cash App and PayPal accounts are below. 💙
As you can see, retaliation against victims of trauma and sexual assault has long-term effects on their health and quality of life. This is exactly why I am continuing the fight for survivors – too many of us are silenced or ignored by systems designed to mitigate liability, or avoid paying money out. While some may say I am brazen, I believe that it is necessary to call out the wrongdoing done upon innocent people by systemic hubris, or arrogance, for lack of a better term.
Rebrand: BaEZelevates Justice For Title IX Survivors
Shortly after starting my venture, I realized that people would have a hard time associating me with my venture with the name being just Justice For Title IX Survivors. Thus, on November 30, 2025, I rebranded as BaEZelevates Justice For Title IX Survivors, which included my new website name, BaEZelevates. We also have two other focus areas that you can learn more about by navigating to those parts of the site! 😎
Navigating the Site
BaEZelevates Justice For Title IX Survivors has multiple subpages, all of which show different parts of the timeline of the retaliatory actions taken against me by CSCU, CCSU, and ECSU. Along the way, I provide education on Title IX and the moves that colleges and universities use in an attempt to silence victims, also known as playbook tactics.
I also share with you my official complaint to the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CT CHRO), the civil rights watchdog agency for the State of Connecticut!
Instilling Hope
I believe that together, we can cultivate a culture where educational institutions “sidestep their litigious fears,” as a I put it in the ethics case study paper I turned in that analyzed my experience.
It is time we unite against indifference and hold ourselves and others accountable for systemic injustices.
I look forward to embarking on this journey with you.
~ Demitric 💙
